According to a recent study, students remembered text they read from a printed page better than students who read the same text from a screen. There's something about the look and feel of a book, even the smell, that connects us with the text in a more personal way than scanning a screen. The same holds true for music. Singing “off the wall” is different from holding a hymnbook and seeing the lyrics and the notes. The TV screens have their advantages. Folks’ heads are up. Everyone can see the lyrics. And, we can sing new songs! The important thing is, hold a book or sing from the screen, but sing, just sing! Praise the Lord!
The kids choir is working on Christmas music. It's amazing how fast they learn the songs, even the ones who can't yet read!
The adult choir will present a Christmas musical. Don't miss this opportunity for worship.
By the way, we'll be singing from songbooks, not screens.
