I want to thank Bill Spencer and Bessie Martin and all the folks who stood in for us while we were traveling. We worshipped at a church in New York (No, not New York City). The style was different from River Bend. We recited the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostles Creed, and we read a couple of prayers together. I recognized the hymns, only because we used to sing them in the Baptist Church. See if you recognize them: O God Our Help in Ages Past, The Doxology, Abide With Me. Those are all in our hymnal. We just don’t sing them anymore. They are “high church” hymns, and we prefer Victory in Jesus and I’ll Fly Away. There’s nothing wrong with our style, and there’s nothing wrong with their worship style. We’re all worshipping the one true God. One day, we’ll all worship together. “…I beheld a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues…cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.” – Revelation 7:9,10. I recommend we all start practicing now for that great worship service.
