Lynn’s Notes February 2024 “But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him.” John 4:23 God wants a relationship with you. You may be thinking, “I’m saved, I have a relationship with God.” Yes! Praise the Lord! But, don’t you want that relationship to grow deeper and stronger? Worship is the key to experiencing God. One way to check on how things are going between me and Jesus, is when I ask myself, “Pig, How’s your worship?” (They called me Pig in school) Your worship is a response to what God has done and is doing in your life. How’s your worship? Maybe you don’t think you can sing. I hear that a lot. How about just talking a song? While you’re driving down the road, washing the dishes, counting sheep, just start “saying” a song. If you can’t think of one, how about Amazing Grace? Say it out loud, and see if it doesn’t change your attitude, and brings you a little closer to the Lord. I’m cheating a little bit here, because singing is just talking on pitch, or as Christian music artist, Sandy Patti has said, yelling on pitch. One last thing, we welcome you to yell it out Sunday morning and evening with the rest of us. It will bring joy to you and to the worshippers around you. Believe it or not! Tommy Gates is with the Lord. His legacy lives on at River Bend in many ways, including the music ministry. He worked hand in hand with his sweet wife Jacqie, Patsy and me, and all of us, in support of worship. Galatians 6:9 reads, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Tommy is reaping his reward. He keeps me singing, Lynn Pigford Worship Leader
